DARK FIBRE – optical fibre rental Using a dark fibre means users rent optical fibres from the provider but establish the means of data transfer themselves. Specific advantages of optical fibres include flexibility and an extremely broad bandwidth compared to traditional copper cables. Bandwidth limitations on data transfer depend on the quality parameters of the optical cable used and the equipment installed. Invitech also offers its partners duct infrastructure and optical fibre pair opportunities within Budapest or between the capital and other major Hungarian cities.

DWDM system

The data transmission capacity of optical networks may be multiplied by means of CWDM and DWDM technologies. These solutions also facilitate multiplexing, i.e. the independent parallel transmission of multiple data streams of various speeds and protocols (Gigabit Ethernet, 10GE, Fibre Channel, etc.) using the same optical fibre. These technologies transmit data streams as individual wavelengths that are joined, split and processed by active or passive WDM components. DWDM systems provide for transmitting a significantly higher number of channels compared to CWDM, also supporting transmission at higher speeds (100 G) and larger distances (several thousand kilometres). DWDM is often preferred over the otherwise cheaper CWDM solution because of these latter features (and not necessarily due to the higher number of channels). In the case of DWDM, channel spacing, i.e. the difference between wavelengths, is so small that it may be expressed only in fractions, so it is referred to in frequency values. The most frequently used channel spacing these days is 100 GHz, but 50 GHz and even denser spacing solutions are also available. Accordingly, the number of channels depends on the spacing applied. A single fibre pair is able to handle as many as several hundred independent streams. DWDM components may be used for both active and passive solutions.

MLLI – Internet leased line

The service is based on a leased line or layer-2 Ethernet technology. This solution is mostly used when two sites of the same company need high-speed, specific point-to-point connection to serve a particular application safely, at a guaranteed, flexibly adjustable bandwidth. A virtual private network is established combining the company’s own IT background (devices, experts) and the data transfer service bought from the telecommunication provider. International leased line

The service is based on a leased line or layer-3 Ethernet technology developed for providers wishing to join the Central and Eastern European region. International leased lines provide complete services from high-speed POP-to-POP to End-to-End connections with narrower bandwidths, both within and beyond the Central and Eastern European region. MPLS

The MPLS service is a flexible and cost-efficient solution for providers aiming at excellent IP VPN services in guaranteed quality for their clients in Hungary or the Central and Eastern European region.

TV signal transit

Our wholesale TV signal transit service provides high-bandwidth network data transmission, enabling our cable television partners to use the television broadcast signals available at Invitech in IP transport stream format from a fixed source.

Television broadcast signals are available in the VLAN in the protected, multicast VPN network established at Invitech’s IP/MPLS backbone and Metro Ethernet aggregation network. The VPN network may be accessed through the data network access (Ethernet Leased Line) provided by Invitech. The minimally required data transfer access capacity depends on the number of used broadcast signals and their parameters.

Conditions of use

  • The service is exclusively available in the territory of Hungary.
  • Invitech does not grant entitlement to the use of available broadcast signals; our clients using the signals and the broadcasters settle with each other in this regard.
  • Invitech transmits only the channels permitted by the broadcaster (rights holder, representative) to its clients on the established system.
